House point system
Here at St Mary's we have a House system with 3 Houses:
-
Green Woodpecker
-
Red Robin
-
Yellow Goldfinch
Staff can award House Points to pupils throughout the school term. These can be earned in a variety of ways, for example, excellent work or acts of kindness and the Headteacher announces the totals each week in our Friday assembly.
Red Robins - winners of the 2025 Sports Day
Pupil Roles for 2025-2026
Year 6 Prefects

Our Year 6 Prefects have a very responsible role within the school. Duties include: Being excellent role models, being helpful and supportive to fellow pupils and teachers, all whilst demonstrating excellent commitment to our core school values: Service, Teamwork, Ambition, Resilience, and Self-Control.
School Council

The School Council is ‘the voice’ of the children within our school. They meet regularly to discuss matters linked to the school development plan.
This year our school council will be helping to decide our focus charity for the year ahead and will also be promoting how children in our school can 'Be Safe'.
Reading Buddies

Our reading buddies are trained to look after our school library and learn how to use the Dewey systme to ensure that all of our books are kept in the correct place.
Librarians also help to make book recommendations, advertise new reads and display whole school reading events such as Author visits and World Book Day.
Play Leaders

Our play leaders help to support our youngest children on the playground through leading play, games and physical activity. Play leaders help to demonstrate our core Christian values outside on the playground and the importance of our playground promises.
